Halle Plasturgie (Plastics engineering)

Materials & Processes

Halle Plasturgie is home to a range of machinery for industrial plastic processing procedures, (co)extrusion, profiles and sheets/plates, blow-moulding and blow film (co)extrusion, (co)injection, physical foaming devices for injection and extrusion moulding, thermoforming, rotational moulding and thermocompression.

A specific area for additive manufacturing was recently developed to bring together a set of industrial machinery (filaments, pellets, powders, high temperatures) as well as machinery developed in-house to respond to specific problems (e.g. large sizes, control, adaptation of placement paths, instrumentation).

The associated laboratories bring together most of this equipment at the laboratory scale along with physico-chemical analysis equipment (DSC, TGA, FTIR, rheological behaviour of polymers and interfacial properties).
