Looking back to JEC World 2025 leading international composites show

The leading international composites show JEC World was celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. IMT Nord Europe couldn’t miss this historic 2025 edition.

Ahead of the exhibition, as a warm-up, the JEC Composites Leadership Circle gathering an unprecedented line-up of speakers took place in the prestigious setting of the Pavillon Gabriel in the Champs-Elysées gardens on March 3 in Paris

Prof Dr Patricia Krawczak (Centre for Materials and Processes, IMT Nord Europe – Institut Mines-Télécom) has joined the chief executives and chairs of the companies exhibiting at JEC World 2025 for an exclusive event dedicated to thought leadership, inspiration and high-level networking. Exceptional keynotes from industry leaders (CEO, VP or Presidents of Syensqo, Hexcel, Owens Corning Composites, Huntsman, Kineco, HRC), hosted by Anette Burgdorf (Les Echos & Le Parisien Medias) and David Barroux (Les Echos), have highlighted the challenges and opportunities of the composites industry in the 60 years to come.

Over three days (March 4-6), our teams have then experienced a dynamic exchange of insights, meaningful networking, and impactful research and business interactions on the IMT Nord Europe booth on the new Research and Innovation area of the exhibition.

Our Centre for Materials and Processes (CERI MP) has featured its technological platforms dedicated to advanced composites manufacturing (POPCOM) including 3D printing and hybrid processes, to multi-axial mechanical testing of industrial products (static or fatigue, internal pressure …), and high-performance multi-physics computing. Several research projects have been highlighted illustrating the wide range of expertise areas of the CERI MP (materials science and engineering; advanced manufacturing and processing technologies; additive manufacturing and 3D-printing; virtual engineering, process simulation and digital twins; testing and structural health monitoring; structural mechanics and performance assessment; recycling and circular economy):

  • the ECOHYDRO project aiming to revolutionize hydrogen storage with a more economic and ecologic materials and manufacturing solution.
  • the CORENSTOCK industrial chair aiming to disrupt the domestic heating industry with innovative hot water tanks made of smart composites.
  • the FIBIAS++ collaborative project, finalist of the JEC Composites Innovation Awards in the category “Automotive – Process”, aiming to develop thermoplastic composites based on recycled materials for use in the automotive industry

An excellent opportunity also to promote our elite international master of science MSc EDACS (Eco-Design and Advanced Composite Structures) operated in partnership with Institut Mines-Télécom Business School.

At last, the launch of the COMPOLIS initiative has been announced. This new research & innovation hub bringing together industrial partners, will be dedicated to connected materials and structures with the ultimate goal of digitalizing composite materials.

« JEC World is unquestionably the must-attend event for the composites industry worldwide. IMT Nord Europe has been attending regularly since 1983, mobilizing its faculty members, engineering staff and students, all passionate about these cutting-edge materials, their manufacturing processes and innovative applications.
This edition of JEC World has confirmed that the future of composites lies in more sustainable, advanced and connected materials and manufacturing processes.
Congratulations to JEC Group’s team for having organized this truly exceptional event! The 60th edition of JEC World was amazing and will be unforgettable.»
