Production-Oriented Robotic Simulator (SIROP)

Digital Systems

Themes

The Production-Oriented Robotic Simulator (SIROP) platform is a multidisciplinary system dedicated to automation, robotics, flow management and other fields in a shared setting: a mini production plant.

This platform bridges the gap between education, research and industrial work in these fields, while also offering a vocational training tool.

This platform can be combined with its digital twin to generate data in predefined or dynamic scenarios with user interactions, in parallel with the real system or at an accelerated pace.

Areas of application

Industrial automation
Automated systems, communication protocols, instrumentationion

  • Analyse complex systems and implement control strategies
  • stablish communication between industrial hardware and software tools
  • Consideration of human-machine interactions in the context of safe production
  • Control of the data acquisition and organisation chain

Industrial supervision
Human-machine interactions, process control, relevance of information

  • Control interface and control of complex systems
  • Data analysis and studies on the relevance of information for the operator
  • Management of security criteria (e.g. hardware, human, data) in sensitive production environments (e.g. chemicals, pharmaceuticals)
  • Design of network architectures for exchanges in the context of production

Robotics
Ex-post collaboration on systems, optimisation, collaboration with humans

  • Optimise robot control trajectories and strategies
  • Establish collaboration with human operators in the area of safety
  • Analyse non-robotic systems and use robotics to add new features
  • Master the use of new actuators and sensors in robotics

Production optimisation
Flow management, energy optimisation in production, process flexibility

  • Optimise the use of elements of a production system
  • Implement energy efficiency strategies based on production data
  • Take into account the human aspect of production to optimise it
  • Help implement quality processes

Machine vision
Image analysis, object recognition, trajectory calculation

  • Using vision tools to help guide robots
  • Implementation of safe production tools based on image processing
  • Production monitoring and defect detection
  • Detection of visual characteristics in constrained systems

Digital twin
Scenario simulation, data exchange, use in immersion

  • Virtual system commissioning for process simulation
  • Communication between virtual and real elements (e.g. virtual sensors, simulated agents)
  • Immersive virtual reality experiences for data acquisition and training
  • Virtualisation of protocol, tools, machines and industrial systems
