I received my B.Sc. from Fudan University and completed a joint Ph.D. between Fudan University and the University of Orléans. I later worked at CNRS Orléans, Fudan University, and Shanghai University before joining IMT Nord Europe.
My research has taken me across quite a few topics, including aerosol optical and hygroscopic properties, VOC and radical chemistry, cloud and fog water chemistry, particulate matter source apportionment, ultrafine particle size distributions and sources, asphalt emissions, and secondary organic aerosol formation. This has also given me the chance to work with a wide range of atmospheric instruments and research facilities.
I have been lucky to take part in, and lead, many field campaigns in very different environments — from cities to rural areas, and from mountains to the sea. These experiences shaped the way I like to do research: combining field observations, advanced instrumentation, and data analysis to understand where air pollution comes from and how it evolves.
Today, my work focuses mainly on atmospheric air-quality monitoring and source-apportionment methods, especially around the ATOLL atmospheric observation platform and other instruments in our laboratory. I am also interested in developing data-driven approaches such as Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) and machine learning for complex atmospheric datasets.
