Wrap-up of the ATMO-ACCESS project: IMT Nord Europe showcases its virtual training resources at the global scale

Virtual training resources on atmospheric sciences

As the ATMO-ACCESS project comes to an end this month, IMT Nord Europe and CNRS got valuable recognition for the provision of free virtual training resources for the community of atmospheric scientists worldwide.

Véronique Riffault (CERI EE – IMT Nord Europe) and Antonia Zogka (CNRS) chaired together an interactive Skills workshop which gathered about 50 participants on September 25, 2025 during the ECR IGAC iCACGP* Online Conference.

* IGAC : International Global Atmospheric Chemistry
iCACGP : international Commission on Atmospheric Chemistry and Global Pollution

Furthermore, a poster titled ‘Atmospheric Science for All: Innovative educational resources on air pollution and climate change, connecting research to education and societal action’ was presented by Antonia to showcase all the virtual training resources developed at IMT Nord Europe including MOOCs, tutorials and Serious Games, related to the topics of air quality and climate change.

Finally, the ATMO-ACCESS Serious Game was featured in the September newsletter from the Global Atmosphere Watch network from the World Meteorological Organization

In this game, the player steps into the role of a young scientist at the Atmospheric Observatory of Lille (ATOLL) in France. It can be easily found on the ATMO-ACCESS website: link
