Optimized Fluid Flows: Professor Jari Hämäläinen at CERI EE

The Energy and Environment Teaching, Research, and Innovation Center (CERI EE) at IMT Nord Europe welcomed an international expert in industrial mathematics and fluid dynamics.

On October 9th, CERI EE had the pleasure of hosting Professor Jari Hämäläinen, a specialist in industrial mathematics from Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT), Finland, and member of the EULiST alliance.

His lecture, titled “Optimized Fluid Flows”, introduced participants to CFD-based optimization applied to shape design and control in industrial processes, as well as fast-solving mathematical models for environmental flows.

The talk, structured in two parts, first highlighted concrete industrial applications before exploring fast-to-solve mathematical fluid flow models used in optimizations. The discussions that followed were stimulating and inspiring, opening new paths for research collaboration between CERI EE and Professor Hämäläinen.
