Energy Environment

High Resolution Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (HR-ICP-MS)

HR-ICP-MS is an elemental analysis technique used to identify and quantify trace elements, including most transition metals and heavy metals in liquid solutions, which sometimes requires microwave mineralisation, at concentrations below ppt (less than 1 part per trillion). It is used to measure trace pollutants in natural or anthropogenic aerosols, rain, atmospheric deposition, and liquid extracts of biological origin (blood, plasma, pulmonary fluids).
