CMWRS 2025: an international workshop dedicated to water resource management
An IFAC event in Hauts-de-France, supported by the Artois Picardie Water Agency and GIS Graisyhm
The CMWRS’25 (Control Methods for Water Resource Systems) workshop will take place on 6 and 7 November 2025 at IMT Nord Europe on the Douai – Bourseul campus. Organised by IFAC (International Federation of Automatic Control), this event is supported by the Artois Picardie Water Agency and GIS Graisyhm in the Hauts-de-France region.
This workshop brings together experts and researchers to discuss the challenges of modelling, management and decision support for the management of small water cycle resources, from both a quantitative and qualitative perspective (drinking water networks, irrigation canals, waterways, etc.).
Chaired by Vicenç Puig (Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain) and organised by Eric Duviella (IMT Nord Europe, CERI SN), CMWRS’25 will present a structured scientific programme featuring conferences, technical sessions and oral presentations. The workshop aims in particular to encourage young researchers through ‘Young Author Awards’ and opportunities to showcase their work.
Among the speakers, specialists Klaudia Horvath (Deltares, Netherlands) and Flor Lizeth Torres Ortiz (UNAM, Mexico) will share their innovative research. The programme will cover concrete examples — hydraulic modelling, quality monitoring, optimal resource allocation, quantitative/qualitative coupling — illustrating modern approaches to adaptive water resource management.
